WOW so much NEWS

Well what a few weeks i have had, where do i start?

Well ....as you know i told you last time i got my new title, pretty excited about that, but to top that, i got a new SISTER as well. Mum and Dad and Damien came home on a saturday night with a white ball of FLUFF. It smelt like a border collie, but didnt look like one? She was 8 weeks old.

It took a few days for my little sister to get a name, Meadow and Muskat thought she was pretty cool, Dash just said "here we go again??" mum and mark, me and muskat and meadow are proud to announce our puppies name is MAGNET "maggie " for short.

Got to stay in the M of things... things that make you go mmmmmmmmmm

well, she is growing heaps and has settled in really well, the twins love playing with her, and she is learning commands really quick. I keep her in control.... grumpy old me, that sounds terrible , but really i loves all the babies
Maggie loves Brandy , the cat, too, the 2 of them play heaps

Well, anyway we had another comp recently and me and meadow got to go to that, our friend "sasha" made her debuet, and got her first 2 titles, very proud of her. Meadow only has 6 points to go to her next title too, hopefully next month.

Magnet had her first trip away with all of us, we all went in the big blue bus to Oberon, Maggie travelled really well, and was such a good girl all weekend. Mark came with us and we all had a fun weekend.

But the big surprise of the weekend was MUSKAT, her brain went up a few gogs and before our very eyes , she decided she could be a flyball dog. she did full runs time after time with the ball.

Mum was so excited, so was Ian... i believe her times were about the 6-7 secs... but she did it, and not one butterfly was harmed in the making of Muskat.

Hope she remembers when she goes to training this week.

well lots of training to be had, stay tuned for my next update. lets go psycho

EASTER SHOW 2008

Well we got to race at the easter show this year. It was in the overflow area. The weather was a bit wet and chilly. BUT i didnt care one bit. We raced on good friday and easter saturday this year. 2 comps over the 2 days.

I was on my own , the girls stayed home on Friday. Just me and Mum racing, like old times.

Dad and Damo were there, that was cool.

Dr Harry came and saw us, we gave him an OZSMART shirt, he loved it.

We came first in Div 2 and had a great days racing , they even wrote about us in the local newspaper

Some peopple had lots of fun

Saturday saw us wearing Liviningstone rd shirts, and the rain was still about, this time it was Me and Meadow in for a days racing. Meadow hadnt raced since getting her black card, so i was hoping she would do ok today

Our team came 1st again, we did really well, Meadows team did well too, and Meadow didnt do anything too wrong this time, Mum was really happy.

It was a big 2 days, and we were happy to sit and just listen to "sandra"

Camden Comp

Well we had lots of fun at Camden, All of us were entered in teams, and Mum was flat out running all day, one dog in, one dog out etc..

Meadow played up a bit and she got a yellow card “warning”
Then she got a red card and was out for 3 heats
Then she got her first title FD Flyball Dog…
Then to top of the day she got a black card and banned for the rest of the day.. OOPS

She was so keen to see what the other dogs were doing on the other lane, she wandered over the middle line. She had no intention of doing anything wrong, just wanted to see what they were all doing?

I used to do that too when I started… I grew out of it.

Muskat had a couple of practice runs, she even entertained the crowd, by giving up on the jumps and chasing a butterfly, only MUSKAT…. Hahahaha

My friends Cleo and Coco finially did succesful runs as well, and Jack performed really well too. Even Jess was feeling better after her visit to the dr this week.

It was a very hot long day, but we learnt a lot of things. I learnt I can be a really annoying start dog, who false starts all the time. Mum was having fun but…

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE NATIONALS
Part 2

Friday 22nd Feb 2008

9.30 am saw the covoy of Psychos start to join up, We had Jen & Little Jen in the Blue bus towing the psycho trailer.Missy Meadow and Muskat of on their very first adventure together, they were Followed up by Ian & Sandra and the campervan

We left Club Psycho on our way to the traditional truck stop lunch at Murlan.
175 km and 1 ½ hours
The atmosphere in the car with the 2 jens was intence as they watched the temp gauge keep rising and rising
A few little prays were said as they reached the truck stop. The car was boiling , things were a little tence

Leaving the car in the shade with the dogs in the back, Deb & John and Leanne were there already, David and Jutta arrived not long after us, we all enjoyed our Lunch,
We topped the blue bus up with water, we had no coolant to put in as the servo had sold out.

We had just heard from Alex and Matt, they were at the service centre at Murlan, not the truck stop, so all the Psychos were close to each other

Off we ventured up the road, about 5 kms and the blue bus was almost boiling again, not good
We decided to pull into Goulburn at the BIG MERINO service centre, good call … the car was boiling again, we put out a call to alex and matt, as alex had a tow ball and has in the past towed the trailer. Wasn’t long and alex caught up with us.
We filled up the blue bus again with water and coolant, and set off up the road, the car was running great, no overheating at all, must have been the drag of the trailer. Ian and sandra were following us, and John and Deb were following alex.

15 mins away from canberra we got a call to say alex’s car had now broken down , not good… no tow bars spare, so ian decided to get to the camp site, drop his campervan and head back to help alex and matt and tow the tralier to the camp

we quickly offloaded the camper and ian set off to help alex, it was around 2.30pm
Alex’s car needed oil and water and Ian picked this up, and between them all tried everything, but the car was to only travel a short distance and go to GOD
The engine was dead
They needed a tow truck.
Ian contacted sandra who tried her hardest on the phone to get help, they made things very difficult for her, and in the end a call was placed to Mark to look up on the net some tow truck companies.
Eventually we got someone to help
Meanwhile Jen and Jen were waiting for their gear ,which was in the back of the trailer, the sky was looking black and they thought the weather was going to tuen bad for them
Eventually around 7pm, the guys turned up with the trailer, it was full of poor alex and matt’s stuff, as the car had been emtied and taken to the wreckers
Alex matt jen jen all set about putting up their tents and dog crates. What a day what an adventure, what else could happen?
We watched the fireworks with all the dogs locked in the cars, and straight to bed

Saturday 23 rd Feb 2008

The start of the National comp, everyone had to be up early and get everything down to the centre oval for the start of the day
That included dog crates , tent , pool and personal stuff, then not forgetting the dogs…
We were a little disorganised and ended up away from our k9 cousins, and a little towards the back of everything. This made it a little hard to hear the PA system at times

The entire racing format had changed and they had rotating judges and an open ring format.
Took a few races to get the hang of it, but it did work very well in the end
Meadow and Muskat both made their debuets into the ring, meadow did ok in a few races until the carnival rides started and until someone started moving the huge crane just behind the box loaders…that freaked her right out and she shut down for the rest of the day
Have to remember this is Meadows first trip in the car, and first time away from home, 1st time with fireworks, and everything is scary
Then again Muskat, couldn’t care less, SCOOOOBY DOOOOBY DOOOOOO

We finished racing by about 4.30pm and had to pack everything up and take back to camp, we did this quite well, except for the trolly jack losing a bolt on the front wheel, now it had to limp back to camp, eventually we all sat around with the k9’s for a bit, then hit the showers and then down to the grandstand café for a meal, $12 main course , dessert and coffee
Little jen and Jen took the girls for a drive out of the showgrounds, as the fireworks spooked Meadow so much the night before
Alex and Matt went for dinner catching up with Ilona
Everyone actually had an early night, ready for part 2 on Sunday

Sunday 24th Feb 2008

Ian and john headed off early to take all the gear down to the oval to get a better position with the k9’s, We all were a little better organised this morning, Little jen had a great little sleep in, those ear plugs work a treat
We started racing at 8am almost on the dot, Meadow finally did her first run with comp points awarded, YIPPIEEEEEEEE
Then not long after that the carnival rides started again and it was game over for her again, poor darling

We raced all day, very hot days , we finished at around 4pm again, then had a presentation that took forever. Both our teams came third, div 3 and div 5
We all were happy with that outcome, another national comp over

Mark and Angus were due shortly, they were towing the trailer home for us, so Jen & little jen alex, started packing up to go home as well, Matt had gone with david and Jutta earlier
We had everything packed up by 7pm, missy meadow and muskat in marks car, molly zeus and connor in jens blue bus, with jen and alex
We stopped at eagle hawk pub for a quick dinner, and left for sydney at 8.45pm
We arrived at Alex’s place just on midnight, off loaded all her gear and dogs then headed for camp psycho, arriving just before 1am
A very long weekend, glad to be home.

Monday 25th feb 2008

Little Jen & Jen unpack the cars and Mark heads off to work, Jen drops little jen off to her car, around 2pm only to find it has problems too, it NOT running, what a weekend….
So Jen drives little jen home

Tuesday 26th Feb 2008
Book the blue bus in for a new radiator
All done and installed
Unpack the trailer, oh my there is so much stuff in there !!!

Here’s to the next adventure
